Glasnevin FC Take Over Tolka Park
What a day for Glasnevin FC as 150 Diggers of all ages marched proudly down Richmond Road to represent our Club and support Shelbourne FC Women in their league clash with DLR Waves.
With the sun shining brightly over Tolka Park, the ground was alive with colour, noise, and the energy of our girls. Backed by our brilliant sponsors Polished Salon, Boycon and DCU, our Girls’ Teams owned the day.
The Highlights:
Our Girls Academy made a magical entrance as mini mascots, walking hand-in-hand with the senior Women’s team.
The U14 Girls took their place as ball girls, keeping the match flowing.
The U12 Girls battled in a spirited mixed match with the U14s, showing skill and teamwork.
The Academy Girls filled the stands with laughter as they ran up and down the steps, before hitting the pitch and thrilling the crowd with goals.
On the pitch, Shels claimed a 4–0 win, but off the pitch it was the Diggers who lit up Tolka Park, showing passion, pride, and the joy of football.
Moment of the Day: The Girls Academy storming the pitch at full-time — dancing and singing to Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off under the sunshine. Pure magic.
A huge thank you to Cllr. Gayle Ralph for helping bring it all together with Shelbourne.
It was a day of football, fun, and unforgettable memories.
Up the Diggers!
